Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Fewer Than 100 Points?

The United Kingdom have struggled in the last two Eurovision Song Contests, earning 46 and 24 points, respectively, but there is renewed hope this year. Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Less Than 100 Points?

Country-pop trio Remember Monday will represent the UK in the Grand Final in Basel, Switzerland, on May 17 with their catchy tune 'What The Hell Just Happened?'Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Less Than 100 Points?

However, the song's name could also be the question on UK super-fans' lips at the end of the evening. Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Less Than 100 Points?

That's because Remember Monday are a massive 100/1 with some betting sites to win this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and as big as 175/1 with one.

The UK's choice of a country act follows the success of Beyonce's country album Cowboy Carter, which saw the artist finally land her first-ever Grammy Award for Album of the Year earlier this year.

It also follows the emergence of pop star Chappell Roan, who is no stranger to a country tune.

But will a country act ensure plenty of Eurovision points for the UK?

It doesn't look likely.

Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Less Than 100 Points?

In the last 10 editions of Eurovision, from 2014 to 2024 - excluding 2020, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic - the UK have averaged 81.3 points.

On the face of it, that sounds like a decent enough return - but the one anomaly is Sam Ryder's huge 466-point haul for Space Man in 2022

Sam's second-placed score is more than the UK's overall points total of 347 in the other nine competitions combined.

If you remove Space Man from the equation, the UK have averaged just 38.5 points in the last 10 years of Eurovision, and Remember Monday aren't fancied to do much better.

History certainly isn't on their side, and they are just 2/7 on Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Less Than 100 Points?betting apps to receive between one and 100 points, which the UK have in 11 of the last 14 Grand Finals.

Eurovision 2025 Odds: Will The UK Get Less Than 100 Points?

There is a chance the UK may score even less than 1 - the dreaded "nul points" across the board.

And it happened not so long ago.

In 2021, James Newman - who was due to represent the UK at Eurovision 2020 until the ceremony was cancelled - finished in 26th place after he amassed a grand total of 0 points.

It was the first time that had happened to the UK since 2003, when Jemini received nul points for their song 'Cry Baby', becoming the first-ever UK act to fail to score a single point in the Grand Final.

It's just Evens for Remember Monday to repeat that unwanted feat this year.

They will hope to do far better than that, but it will be tough to make it to 100 points.

Only twice between 2014 and 2024 have the UK broken the 100-point barrier.

Sam's Space Man and Lucie Jones' Never Give Up On You, which received 111 points in 2017, were the two acts to do so.

But Remember Monday are a massive 4/1 to follow in their footsteps, and it's 10/1 they can get anywhere near Sam and receive more than 300 points.

If the UK do receive any points, then Ireland may be the most likely contributors.

The Emerald Isle have given the most points to the UK over the course of the Eurovision Song Contest, with 209, and the UK's neighbours are 6/4 favourites to be the most generous to them in this year's competition.

Austria are 2/1 second favourites to be the UK's best contributor on the night, followed by Belgium (3/1).

Over the contest's history, Austria have given 180 points to the UK, eight more than Belgium's 172, while Portugal (7/2) have contributed 170 points, and France and Germany (4/1) have both given 164 apiece.

The UK have also given generously to Ireland over the years, contributing 227 points to the Emerald Isle in total.

However, Ireland are not the UK's best receivers, with Sweden topping that chart by just one point with 228.

It's somewhat surprising that the UK keep delivering for Sweden when they aren't one of the top six countries which regularly give points to them.

Points should, of course, be awarded based on the quality of the song, but we all know that isn't always the case.

Eurovision 2025 Odds

Last year, the UK gave six points to Sweden in the jury vote, but in the previous two years, they awarded Loreen's Tattoo - which went on to win the 2023 contest - and Cornelia Jakobs' Hold Me Closer, which finished fourth in 2022, their maximum 12 points.

Sweden are 4/6 favourites to receive the UK's 12 points again this year and are also the best-priced 21/10 favourites to win the 2025 Grand Final.

The UK gave Ireland seven points last year but they didn't award any points to the country in 2023, 2022, 2021, or 2019.

The UK have given Israel - currently fourth favourites to win this year's contest - 128 points in Eurovision history, and they are 11/8 to award them 12 points this year.

They are followed by Austria (13/8) and France (2/1), to whom the UK gave 12 points in 2021.

At Eurovision 2024, the UK awarded 12 points to Portugal, but they are massive 500/1 outsiders to win this year's competition.

As a result, Portugal are 10/1 outsiders to receive the UK's maximum points this time around.

Hopefully, Remember Monday will not be asking, 'What the hell just happened?' at the end of this year's Eurovision contest.
