Just as last weekend did, this next round of football starts with a tasty Thursday night blockbuster involving the unpredictable Carlton.
It ends out west, so we’ll hope history repeats itself and that we can continue our good form throughout the early part of the season.
We’ve once again scanned the best Australian betting sites and come up with our three best selections for the round, as well as finding you the best odds in the market for some popular same-game multi-fillers.

The Western Bulldogs justified favouritism to defeat Collingwood in the final weekend of May last year.
They have won three of the last four meetings between these sides, but they start Round 2 of 2025 in a much weaker position.
An extensive injury list grew even longer last weekend with a broken jaw for Tom O’Donnell and a concussion to Luke Cleary, and the bad news kept coming when it was confirmed that defender Liam Jones is at least another week away.
They conceded almost 100 points to North Melbourne, who were last year the worst scoring team in the league, with an average of just 70 points per game.
That must be of grave concern given that Collingwood put a whopping 136 past Port Adelaide last week.
That’s why Collingwood are 10 point favourites with Australian betting apps.
While that might seem a tad generous to the Bulldogs based on last week’s results, those results weren’t an accurate reflection of where both teams currently are, so we’ll be settling for a Collingwood victory.
New recruit Dan Houston registered 27 disposals last week and continued some fine performances at the MCG, where he has now cleared 25+ possessions in each of his last six appearances.
Unibet have a great price for him to do it again.
Best Bet: Collingwood To Win - 1.58 With Bet365
Player Prop: Dan Houston 25+ Disposals - 1.87 With Unibet

It’s therefore only fair to say that Port Adelaide are a much better side than the one that lost by 91 points to Collingwood last weekend, and the fall-out was devastating.
Adelaide Advertiser columnist Michael Mkoka-Nicholson even went as far as to say “the ‘Sack Ken’ signs were right” during the week, telling readers Port fans should be “apoplectic” with the state of their club.
Despite that, AFL bookmakers were giving them a -38.5 point handicap on Thursday against a youthful Richmond side that should be high on confidence following last week’s dramatic comeback against Carlton.
Even through all the trials and tribulations of the last few years, the Tigers managed to cover the pre-match line in each of their last five games against Port at the Adelaide Oval, starting with the 2020 preliminary final and ending with Port’s 41-point win last year as -44.5 point favourites.
Nick Vlastuin was a busy man last week with 18 kicks and eight marks against Carlton, recording 20+ touches for a sixth consecutive time.
But only in one of those six games did he go past 25+, so the smarter play here is to take the shorter odds of 1.50 with Betr for 20+.
Best Bet: Richmond +38.5 Points - 1.90 With Playup
Player Prop: Nick Vlastuin 20+ Disposals - 1.50 With Betr

Melbourne Demons are out to register a seventh consecutive win against North Melbourne under the Marvel Stadium roof on Sunday afternoon.
We’ll be tipping them to fall short of the -18.5 mark after they missed some late opportunities to defeat GWS last weekend.
That deflating result saw them suffer a sixth defeat from their last seven outings and the news got worse during the week when key defender Steven May was ruled out for this week with a fractured larynx suffered in training.
That shifted things a couple of goals in favour of North, who were spirited in defeat last week and enjoyed not only an accurate goalkicking performance from key forward Nick Larkey (5.1) but also some handy contributions from new recruits Caleb Daniel (24 disposals, six tackles) and Luke Parker (21 disposals, four tackles).
North have been growing an extra leg or two at their home ground, illustrated by them covering the pre-match handicap in seven of their last eight games at Marvel Stadium, with the only exception being the Round 24 fadeout against the Bulldogs (138-42).
One player who could make for some great value is Cameron Zurhaar.
He had five shots on goal last weekend for 1.4, and if he works on his shooting during the week and gets back to anywhere near the 61% goalkicking accuracy he had last season, he could be a sneaky chance of a multiple goal output this week.
Best Bet: North Melbourne +18.5 Points - 1.90 With Picklebet
Player Prop: Cam Zurhaar 2+ Goals - 2.35 With Bet365
